Commercial Carpet Cleaning
Very Low-Moisture Cleaning (VLM) or Encapsulated Cleaning
This cleaning method is typically reserved for commercial (glued down carpet) environments, although there are residential applications. The process is simple and highly effective. The result: a clean carpet void of detergent residue.
This process utilizes dry soil removal (vacuuming), application of encapsulating carpet detergent, and machine scrubbing with counter-rotating cylindrical brushes to gently but thoroughly massage the carpet fibers from base to tip.
Below is our step-by-step detailed review of Encapsulation (VLM) Carpet Cleaning:
Step 1: Pre-inspection
Our certified technician will ask you for a guided tour of the areas to be cleaned to identify any points of concern you may have. Take some time to look carefully prior to our arrival so we can properly address these areas. Identify spots and stains if at all possible so we can better treat those areas.
Step 2: HEPA Vacuum
With low-moisture cleaning, this is perhaps the MOST crucial step, and a thorough job is performed using a commercial quality CRI Gold Certified HEPA filtered vacuum and/or Deep Pile Brush to raise the carpet nap for thorough cleaning.
Step 3: Furniture Moving
There is no additional charge for moving furniture. We kindly ask that you try to remove as many smaller items (office chairs, waste baskets, etc.) prior to our arrival if possible. Larger pieces will be moved for you, and placed on protective tabs/blocks following cleaning. For liability reasons, we cannot move delicate electronics or AV equipment.
Step 4: Pre-spray
Our certified technician will pre-condition the entire area with encapsulating detergents boosted with a citrus additive for additional cleaning power. We proudly use green-safe cleaning agents. Better for you, and better for the environment!
Step 5: Pre-spotting
Troublesome stains will be addressed with the appropriate spotting agent to obtain a better overall clean. There’s no such thing as one “Do-All” miracle spotter for all stains! Point these out during the Pre-Inspection so we know how to handle them.
Step 6: Machine Agitation
An orbital scrubber or cylindrical brush is used to gently massage the encapsulating detergents completely into the carpet fibers allowing soil to be suspended in the polymer detergent, where it dries to a clear crystalline residue that releases easily from the fibers.
Step 7: Groom & Power Dry
High-speed air movers are used to force-dry the carpet. The helps to quick dry the encapsulating detergent and also rapidly decreases drying time. This prevents soil from wicking back, which is common in glue-down carpet applications.
Step 8: Post HEPA Vacuum (As Necessary)
Following a thoroughly dry carpet, we will re-vacuum as needed to help remove suspended soils that have been crystalized. The crystals will continue to release over time regardless, so this step is often optional.
Step 9: Cleaning Experience Walk-through
Our certified technician will guide you through the freshly cleaned areas for your approval before we pack up our tools. We will re-clean any areas of concern. As always, WE aren’t happy unless YOU are happy!
